hey i have a few questions about installing the forums.

1. Do i have to put it in the same directory as the core install? if so do i put it in a folder within?
2. or do i have to make it it's own directory?
3. Does the forums use the same database as the core install?

any help you can give would really be great, thanks so much in advance.

The good thing about DotNetNuke is that it automatically places things where they need to. The forums use the same database. Log into the site as host - then you can see the 'install more features' link and you upload the module from there, and DotNetNuke will do the rest for you.

I hope this helps -

wow, that's really cool.

I grabbed the pdf about the forums to help me out. It says to browse to the install file. But i don't see it in the folder? What is is called? and where is it located?

On a side note, i just wanted to say how great this site is, i've already got so much great help. Also, the more i dig into it the more i see how amazing DotNet Nuke is. Great stuff. Thanks again for the help.

AAh you need have it downloaded to your comptuer and you can do so HERE - so you locate it on your computer to add to the box to add to the portal - does that make sense?
I guess it could have been explained better - you need to download or have it ready to add to the portal.

Yes you'll find some developers here have some great forums too.  The forums here are good but often we can't explain things as we would like so we need to use our own forums and there are quite a few good ones around that have some top notch advice.

Does this help you?

Ya i have downloaded it to my computer. But i'm not sure which file i'm suppose to browser for to begin the install. I can't seem to find a install file while browsing. What is the name of the file i should be browsing for to begin the install? Should i be downloading the  Forum_3.20.08_Install.zip or Forum_3.20.08_Source.zip?

Sorry for all the questions, thanks again.
