Wow there is some communication misunderstanding here - If you want to drop some javascript tracking code into the site you can in fact open up the default.aspx file which resides in the root folder of your installation and put the javascript as per the instructions which is normally making sure it's within any other code. That's how I've done some google analytics code if I don't want to use an analytics module.  But if you're not an expert in this area - then the skin option is the safest.

Or you can open the skin file - do you have a standard installed site with not other skin apart from the blue on there - That can be located in the Portals/_default/Skins/DNN-Blue/ folder - and it's probably the fixed width one -Horizontal Menu - Fixed Width.ascx is the name from memory - you can open that  even in notepad - and look for this code - <dnn:COPYRIGHT runat="server" id="dnnCOPYRIGHT" /> - that's the dnn code where on the site it says 'copyright'.  You'll see a couple of others. That will give you a start on where to look.

It's hard when you don't quite know the exact words to describe what you want - and I had to read this a few times to work out what it was I think you wanted.  You are mistaking making a change to the site using the modules from the dropdown box, with making changes changes to code in the skin file.  Two separate things.

I hope I'm right or I guess it's back to you to explain in more detail till the penny drops for either us or you!    I went to your site and it appears you're into marketing and therefore tracking is important, and you want to drop some tracking code into the site to monitor activity - is that the case?

Remember to backup your file before making any changes - but you already knew that...
