I get this error , when trying to Upload the forum module on a fresh install of DNN4.

Try these in your web.config

Find the section: <!-- allow large file uploads -->
Add this to it: requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192"

Find the section: <!-- page level options -->
Add this to it: enableEventValidation="false"

I too am having a similar error.

I am using DDN4 as well, and the message I receive is almost identical. The methods I'm using to install the module is navigating to the Module Definitions page in the host login, and selecting upload module, before choosing the ZIP file that I downloaded from this site.

I already have similar lines to what was suggested in my web.config file.

Can anyone help?

Nobody should have to alter the web.config.  The module is not that big.  (Not that this change wouldn't be a bad thing for other reasons)

The forum docs are a little outdated but they still provide a very good start to get going.  Please refer to them.  I am guessing you are attempting to source version and not the install version.  The install version IS THE ONLY one that is installable via the Module Definitions.

Chris, when DNN4 was first released I saw the problem with any module/file/etc that was over 250K. I haven't looked at DNN 4.0.1 yet as I've been busy with other projects.
