Please read the last few posts on this thread. I really could use some advice on how to troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks.

Hi Cliff,

As you perhaps suspected, it appears there is a problem with your skin. In some scenearos, ASP.Net will restrict a controls control collection from being modified, and this is what is occurring. So, you need to (a) look in the code associated with the skin, or (b) look at the code assocated with a *control* on the skin.

A quick way to figure out the culprit would be:

1) Eliminate everything in your skin file, except what is absolutely necessary
2) See if the skin will now load
3) Add controls and markup back into your skin, until it breaks

Use this method to isolate exactly what is causing the problem. We can go from there.

I'd also google "The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks." This error isn't a DNN one, and you'll need to understand why it occurs once you DO find what control is causing it.

Hope this helps!

Fortunately, I took your advice and hit google first and found this explained in John Mitchell's blog.

http://blogs.snapsis.com/PermaLink,guid,381f9036-432e-468c-bc2e-b52ab86f12ea.aspx

I then found that I had added an img tag inside of one of the panes. I did John's workaround and it worked. It is not rendering the pane where I want it but at least I know the issue now and can redesign the skin as needed.
