Hi Folks,

I don't need my users to enter an email address but the registration form always requires one so I've been adding a dummy address.

Is it possible to remove this requirement.

Many thanks

Tony

By not requiring users to provide an email address, you're not giving them any options if they forget their password and need it reset, or if you want to contact them later.  I'm curious to hear why you feel that not having an email address is an important requirement for your implementation.

While I certainly support the notion of customizing the registration process, removal of the email address breaks much of the user management.  You will wind up with accounts that you would have to maintain by hand, since there would be no verification or password lookup features.  Plus, it could protect you from multiple dummy users.

If you don't want to ask for people's email, why use accounts at all?
