Hi,
Does anyone have a suggest a link template they'd be willing to share?
I'm using the Respository for link management and am looking into a way to allow users to submit links, after approval of course.

Best Regards,
Ben

I would suggest taking a look at the 'directory' template. It's used here at DotNetNuke.com on the Directory page. I believe it will do what you want, allow users to upload links ( with descriptions ) and upon approval will be displayed for others to click on to visit. You can modify the form.html/xml files to add some text regarding any special requirements or restrictions to uploaded links and to change the prompts to better reflect a links sharing module

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.  I've been working on creating a template modifying the drectory template (copied and renamed).  I was hoping to try to create something like the suggest a link on this site. http://www.faktnet.com/DotNetNuke/Suggestwebsitetothedirectory/tabid/144/Default.aspx

But, still trying to work around some of how to do this.  I was hoping someone might have a similar sample that I could use as a starting point.

This is by far the best module in DNN.  I've been using it for almost every page on my site.  This template is my last project and I have to admit it has to alittle confused on the best design approach.

Best Regards,
Ben

ok, I created a simple link exchange template. The upload form is similar to that on the faktnet.com site you indicated. I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of the list display but I set it up as a simple listing of links. I removed the description but left in comments and ratings. Of course you could easily remove those as well. If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks Steve,
This is a great starting point for me.  Just had two quick follow-up questions.
1) Does it take recompiling to make the Categories a drop down or can I do through through updating the template's xml?
2) On the Form page, I'm trying to figure out how to allow someone to short by attributes ( I think it is possible ), but when I add [ATTRIBUTES:Hello] where Hello is my Attribute nothing seems to happen.  Is there any samples or documentation on how to do this? I've reviewed the user guide but can't seem to figure this one out.

Thanks again for all of your help.  By far this has been the best supported module.

Best Regards,
Ben
