Mitch -

I've been pushed for time recently. You might want to look at this though as I think it would do the trick:

I'm late to the game here, but I have the same need.  Can anyone give me pointers on how to decrypt the dnn authorization cookie from within my external asp.net app (on same domain)?  I actually don't need to get the roles, I just need to verify that the external app user is logged on to my dnn site.

Thanks.

your external application needs to use MS membership provider using same tables, application name and machine key (in web.config).

Hi, i'm near this situation but need to login on different domain. I'm testing a Single Sign-on solution with CAS server from ja-sig to use same session on both asp.net membership provider and php/linux to use with moodle and Active Directory as Identity Store. But I need a fast solution until SSO can be implemented in prodution. we have some web application that doesn't uses 2.0 formsauth (uses session...) so... I tried to inject username and password from a webform, to dotnetnuke login page, it's possible? Putting an aspx page that get credentials from post/get and log the user?
