Hi there,

I'm aware of the Blog having issues with displaying images in DNN4.40 when the whitespace filter is enabled, but I've now also found a similar issue with the Links module.

I always specify a bullet graphic for my links lists. with 4.40, if I enable Compression in the Host Performance Settings, the bullet graphic disappear and red X's are displayed instead. The whitespace filter doesn't seem to affect this.

DNN Version Number: 4.40
Links module Version Number: 03.03.00
Trust level: Medium I presume - on webhost4life VPS
Server Operation System: Server 2003
Steps to reproduce the issue: specify bullet gfx and enable compression. In my case Gzip, prob also the other.

Regards,
Rob

Rob,
I will make the team aware of this and see what we can come up with. I have heard of other issues, though I cannot remember one specific one, that people are reporting in other projects. I am sure the core team is looking into this and will respond to it asap.

Thanks for the reply,

I've figured it out now so I came back to post the solution. I use a png bullet graphic, so I've added image/png to the the Excluded Mime Types section in Host, Performance settings and that makes it work.

That section needs to have a lot more items added to it by default... basically anything that doesn't benefit from compression should be there... archvies, mp3's video, pdf's etc.

Regards,
Rob
