Issue: The Links module and the Documents module do not work and never have. I can add links/documents with no problem, but when I click on the link it recieve the error "HTTP 404 Page cannot be found". The link makes reference to "http://localhost/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=Tlz3TOHNSSI%3d&tabid=101&mid=571"

I opened a thread in the Documents forum and it's gone three pages already, still haven't found a fix. But now I'm thinking, if this affects the Links module also, this may be an issue with the core system.

I really hope someone can offer some help as this is the Intranet site for my company and these modules are crucial for the staff. Please help!

Thank you,

Brian

Hello Sebastian,

Yes I'm sorry. I'm using 4.3.7 on SQL 2K5 Express. Thanks!

Brian,

since DotNetNuke uses a http-handler for linkclick, please make sure, you have all entries listed in release.config in your web.config as well.

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for your response.

Both the release.config and web.config contain the same entries in the httphandler tage:

<httpHandlers>
      <!-- This is for FTB 3.0 support -->
      <add verb="GET" path="FtbWebResource.axd" type="FreeTextBoxControls.AssemblyResourceHandler, FreeTextBox" />
      <!-- This is for CAPTCHA support -->
      <add verb="*" path="*.captcha.aspx" type="DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.CaptchaHandler, DotNetNuke" />
      <!-- This is for Serving files, secure, insecure, from database -->
      <add verb="*" path="LinkClick.aspx" type="DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileServerHandler, DotNetNuke" />
</httpHandlers>
