Just recently got the following message on my website:

"The hosting contract was expired on 31-Dec-2006. Please contact admin for further information."

This message comes up on all the pages so i'm unable to view the site. I've contacted my Web Host and I was told the problem was within DNN.

I wasn't the one who developed the site but the person who did is away. I'm using DNN 3.2.0. I appreciate any ideas.

There is an optional attribute for portals in DotNetNuke which is an Expiry Date.  The purpose being that portals are often solds as subscriptions, etc. and this allows for some automated maintenance (at the discretion of the host, this is not a requirement of DNN).

In your hosts absence, this may be difficult to deal with.  All they would need to do is change a date in the interface (Host Setting section of Site Settings page) and this would be resolved.  However it requires either access by the host user, or intervention by a technology support staffer who could manually change the date in the database and restart the site (in an emergency case).  If you have any access to the actual hosting account (i.e. if the developed site is running in an environment you have access to), we can help you with this change.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I understand what needs to be changed but it seems the access I have doesn't allow me view/change the date.

How may I go ahead with your suggestion of: "intervention by a technology support staffer who could manually change the date in the database and restart the site (in an emergency case)" since I do not have the details of the host user?

I appreciate your help

Hi,

The host contract of one of my clients websites expired too. I have a host account, but I don't see any possibility to log in with my host account.

Thanks for your help,

Anthony

Do you mean you can't login with your host account due to expiration? you can edit the date through sql server database and reload the site.
