Hi!

I thought I was safe to use the web hotel I choosed to host my DNN portal when I saw that yhey supported .Net, MSAccess and MySql 5.

I downloaded DNN 4.4.0 and uploaded it to my web hotel, just to see what it could look like but all I get is this:

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.04.00

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

When I then refresh the page I get this message:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

After some searches I have understood that DNN doesn't support neither MSAccess nor MySQL 5...

Is there any way I can resolve this issue (without writing my own driver...)?

My web host gets very expensive if I upgrade my account so I can use MS SQL 2005.

Does anyone know if DNN will support MySQL in a fairly near future because now i'm stuck with my provider...

Best regards

Rikard
