I am getting "DotNetNuke Configuration Error","Access to the path 'C:\DotNetNuke4\Website\web.config' is denied." even through I have given "Network Service" Full Control permission.
I have a previous installation of DNN4, created by a former programmer which is still running fine on the same PC.

I used IIS to check the properties of both the DNN4 which is working and the DNN4.4 which I am getting error, the settings are similar, same .NET framework, correct application settings

When i tried doing a DNN4.4 installation on a different PC, it gave the same error. Somehow, I think the error may not be due to the access to path denial as stated, but I just cannot pinpoint the problem.

This is the 3rd day I am trying ... Please help.

I have found the solution, even though I can't explain it.
In the previous DNN4 installation, as well as my past experience with DNN3, I have been using NETWORK SERVICE, which worked.
But for DNN4.4, I use ASPNET and it worked.

I am using WinXP Pro SP2.

WinXP always uses the ASPNET users, and Win2k3 uses the network service user, it's always been like this.

I have the same error. How do you set the permissions for the installation folder, and all child folders on Winxp Pro?
