Ello

I'm making some changes to Register.ascx.vb (located in /Admin/Security) so that when a new user registers, a new account is also created in a seperate database as well as the DNN db. However nothing I do to Register.ascx.vb has any effect, even if I try to break it, I've even tried renaming the file and yet new users are still able to register successfully. Its like there's some kind of magical script caching going on that I don't know about!

I'm running DNN 4.3.7, MS SQL 2005, ASP.Net 2 on Server 2003

any suggestions?

hi

I recently discovered that you get two different ways to register a user. Number one, you can find by clicking on register in the login module. There you'll find it will only request username and password. BUT, if you add the user account module on any page, you'll find everything that is on the register.ascx file. I imagine you'll find it there.

Milks - Assuming you are using the Source package, unless you change the reference in the web site to be "Project" instead of BIN for whatever project that code lives in, the web site won't see it.  The source projects compile to their own project directory.  Alternatively you could copy the freshly compiled new version of that dll (and applicable newly compiled dependencies) into your web site's bin folder.
