Hi,
I have installed the DNN 4.3.7 starter kit and tried creating a custom module. I have followed Michael Washington's tutorials and have produced a simple helloworld module displaying text just to ensure I can get the basics working. It all seemed to work ok when registering the module via the website and when added to a page it displayed as expected. However, when I log out I get the message in the module: "An error has occurred, Error: HelloWorld is currently unavailable". There is no further description provided about the error. I have followed all the steps from the tutorials - installed the helloWorld.dnn manifest, run the SQL script etc. I cannot see what the problem is as everything works and displays ok unless I am logged out. The only thing I noticed during developing and installing the module was that, when running the 01.00.00.SqlDataProvider as a script, a lot of the code was underlined in red - I ignored this as the script ran successfully but am now wondering if this is the problem.
Any help solving this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil

I have also noticed that when logged in as host, the module displays a pencil image with the editable text "here is some sample content". When I log out the message is replaced by the error message as above. If I remove this sample content then will that solve the problem? How do I remove the editable content?

Your DNN logs may contain more detailed information to help figure out the cause of the error. You can access them through the admin menu.

I had a similar problem this morning with the module not being available when NOT logged in. I removed the control lstContent and the code behind it in the View.ascx page. I then rebuilt the page and the error went away with my custom module still functioning properly without the error message.
