The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

  <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

or:

2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

<configuration>
   <system.web>
       <compilation debug="true"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. Okay I can recreate it on my dev machine that's running on XP but not on my server so I'm pretty sure it's got to do with XP (and maybe .NET 2.0) and not DNN.

One of the new features introduced in 4.4.0 is built-in http compression and whitespace compression. These features are causing some issues in regards to images and downloads.

Try this .. log in using your Host account. Go to the Host Settings page and under the compression section, try clearing the WhiteSpace compression checkbox. Save your changes, then click on Restart Application to recycle the app.

Now go try your downloads again and see it it works. If you still have problems, go back to the Host Settings page and turn off page compression, recycle your app and try again.

If after that you're still having issues, as a last resort, try commenting out the compression handler in your web.config file

Let me know if any of these steps solves your problem

Doh!!! I didn't even look at the compression between the two installs. It's off on the server and it was automatically turned on on the fresh 4.4.0 install on my dev computer (I made the assumption that it was off by default and had to be turned on). I had to turn off page compression and then it worked like it should.

sfabian,

Thanks for your suggestion ^^

I just try in my portal by clear the content in the whitespace compression, when i press update button, the error occur and i cannot work with dnn ><

So i go to web.config and commenting this statement

After i save it,i can work with dnn and i can upload and download the file with no problem, but.........

New problem come out, when i select host setting, the error occur and the error code is:

Error: Host Settings is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Host.HostSettingsModule.BindData() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Host.HostSettingsModule.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace --

How to solve this problem? >.<
