Hi,

I'm trying to set up ddn 3.1.0 on my local server. After a few errors the installation finally took place and the default ddn website appeared, great, then I tried to login as admin&host with password admin/host and it doesn't respond? It just takes you from the login screen back to the home page but with no admin controls etc. seems strange, has anyone come across this before?

The last error i got was something about the URLRewrite and so I read the following from a forum and added the code and the installation went ahead.

"This error implies that there is already a "URLRewrite" HttpModule loaded in the application, so as your Virtual Directory is "/dnn_3_2_1" or something like that then "/" must contain an existing dnn install that is causing errors. I've had that problem setting up DNN in a virtual directory before. Specifically when a DNN installation is already running in the root dir of the webserver. The solution was to add <clear /> the one line in between your line 58 and 59"

Maybe this has something to do with it?

Many thanks,
jo

May I ask you why you are installing 3.1.0 and not the latest version?
There have been lots if security updates and improvements since 3.1.0
Maybe that will solve your problem....

Hi Timo,

I'm installing 3.1.0 because I need to restore a Portal with a .bak file which was built on 3.1.0

Cheers,

Jo

Okay, sorry for that.
Maybe you can try  3.1.1 version as there seemed to be quite a lot of issues with 3.1.0 (as I read in the forum, no personal experience).
You can download it from sourceforge here

Will I be able to restore a .bak file that was created in 3.1.0 to 3.1.1?

My clients website has just gone down and my hosting company cannot restore it due to a memory leak in the .bak files. They can only restore it to a version i had from 9months ago, obviously this is very scary and upsetting. Their advice is to try to get the recent corrupt bak files installed locally and see if I can find the problem from there.

Have you had any experience of this?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!
