Hi Jon,

While utilizing the GetCallbackEventReference, I encountered some unexpected behavior with PostChildrenOf feature.  It seems that when the page's Form control is used, all page controls are posted without incident... however when any other parent control is used, only the control and immediate children are posted.  Review of the associated client-side scripts has confirmed that methods involved do not contain any recursive logic so that all children are included (children-of-children, etc.).  Is this intended?

For the sake of smaller payload I would like to post only controls that are related to my postback, thus the desire to use the PostChildrenOf argumnet.  Problem is that I need to use <table> or <div> to acheive a user-friendly layout of my controls.  Seems that with current design the only way to callback and have complex design is post the entire form (viewstate and all, yuk).  Any chance you might consider updating the client logic so that it recursively posts all controls under the specified PostChildrenOf?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

It is good that you are concerned about payload size.  The postchildrenof is a simple way to post additional values and is not a one-size-fits-all.

I am guessing you are on an earlier version of DNN, for in version 1.3 of the ClientAPI the script has been modified to do as you have suggested.
