i'm not going to debug to find out ;)

my best guess is that because of the databinding, this is actually done before the skin is added to the page, which makes the path relative to the control, which is handled automagically by the control.add call in the skin

You are right: <%=%> does not work because of the way asp.net works. Using the databinding gives you a wealth of extra options though. I'm especially pleased with the localization possibilities this brings

This is a problem I already had given up on and "solved" by using javascript, this is way better....
I'll give it a try later...

I'm a bit disappointed that your not willing to debug the .NET framework though ..

Timo, of course you're right; your workaround is not a core hack. What I wanted to say is that hopefully no one is going to post a solution like "Include the following lines of source code in file soandso.vb and rebuild the application!"

Actually I hoped for a solution like Erik's! I just tried it, and it works . Thanks a lot!
