Hi there
I work for a company that is considering using dotnetnuke. The problem is that CMS systems can be used in so many different ways that it is hard to find out whether DNN would be the right product for us.
We have a current basic intranet that accesses Active Directory for authentication. It was built by me but now as demands of the site are increasing with increased sections and a massive increase of roles we have decided to look at DNN as an option.
I have a number of questions about DNN, mainly a list of things that are on my current intranet and if they can be replicated in DNN.
1 - Is it possible to to connect to active dirtectory and use the roles within AD
2 - We will have about 10 departments, each of those departments will have a intro page, alomost like a sub-hompage. Am I to assume these would be portals?
3 - We will have about 10 departments, each departmnet will require the ability to puload an list documents. How easy would this be.
4 - I have some forms that access data from our other existing DB, can this be done.
5 - I may have a form that is made up of 12 fields, upon submitting this data is stored in a specific table and an email is sent to one of the admin team, is this achievable
Thats all for now, more will come to mind.
