Is it possible to have users choose between uploading a file or providing a link to a file hosted elsewhere?  For example, if a user has a file hosted somewhere and provides a link instead of uploading.  This makes sense if you have users that have files that they would like to share across several sites.  They can have 1 file which is linked to in multiple places instead of having several files distributed across different sites.

this is supported by a number of modules, e.g. Links and UserDefinedTable.

Not exactly the answer I was looking for.  I'd like to use this module.  I've noticed that the UserUpload.ascx file within the repository module directory has some text which seems to allow users to point to url insted of uploading a file.  All I'd like to do is give users the option of either uploading a file or linking to the file.  What file do I need to modify to make this possible.
