I'm a new user to DNN and I'm trying to install it into my computer (can't install either install package or source package) but don't quite understand the whole process of installing it. I don't see anything that will let me install the program (install.exc or anything). I've tried to follow the instructions on the PDF installation guide but keeps on getting lost. I'm currently using a window platteform XP version so what is the correct way to installing DNN 4.4? Do I have to have certain programs before I can install DNN? Please help....

-Thanks much.

Requirements are:

  • Internet Informations Server (Part of Win 2000/2003 Server and WindowsXP)
  • .Net Framework 2.0
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/Express (Express is free)

if all requirements are met, you need to extract the zip file to your hard disc, create a virtual directory in IIS configuration (configured for ASP.Net 2.0, default document set to Default.aspx, appropriate permissions set) pointing to folder with the extracted files, grant File System permissions for ASPNet user and adopt web.config. than hit your site using your browser.
