Can we please have an update on this? I have just got back from a Google University session where we played around with Maps Mashups and I REALLY want to work on this stuff!

According to one of the core team members, the map project is supposed to go into QA next week.

Assuming no major problems, that would equate to a March release.

So, assuming "go into QA next week" isn't wishful thinking on the part of the map team, we should have some good news soon.  I suggested that the map team needs to communicate its progress (or lack of it) better - we're forgiving if we aren't ignored! :)
