I am a newbie so please be gentle ;-)...

I have a multi portal installation running on GoDaddy.

I have defined a couple of additional pages and see that I can link to them under the HOME menu but...

What other ways are there to get to a page? Some examples anywhere?

I would like to have the following methods to get to another page on the site: a link, a menu, an icon and any other paradigm that was deemed typical or useful.

Thanks, Dave

you usually create a menu by defining the parent page - it depends on the skin of your site, how the included menu is generated and displayed. You can also place fix links directly in the skin or use any module to add links flexible inside your content. The texteditor allows you to select links and insert them where you would like. FCKEditor also supports adding links to images.

I see that a submenu item was added under HOME and that works to go to my new page.

I'm just wondering what other techniques folks use to add menus, buttons, etc. that will also navigate to another page.

Am I able to modify my menu area so I can add other top level items? Is the skin always modified to add menu items? Seems like there should be a menu module.

Do you typically navigate to a page to find its address then go back and use that URL in a Text/HTML module?

Just really wondering about the basic navigation techniques when designing a web site beyond a page getting added to the HOME menu.

Thanks, Dave

P.S. I noticed FCKeditor was a "provider" and not a "module". Guess it replaces the standard RTF editor by adhering to some editor provider interface?

sure, specify root as parent in page settings

not always, but usually

Menus can be modules, but most are added as skin objects (please refer to the skinning document included in the documentation package for details)

no, you can use the "insert link" button from the toolbar and select the target page from dropdown list inside the dialog

yes, fck can be configured to be used instead of default FreeTextBox.
