Content Sharing (CS) is a suite of DotNetNuke modules designed to leverage from the existing DotNetNuke core modules to provide a mechanism to share content of the same portal or between portals within the same DotNetNuke instance.

Content Sharing provide a mechanism to replicate content across portals without requiring the use exporting and importing. This means that users can create their content once and use everywhere else saving users significant amount of time in maintenance for large volume of data.

In addition Content Sharing modules also support dynamic content localization. Which means a single instance of a Content Sharing module can display the appropriate content for the logged on users based on their preferred language. In other words, if a user with English as the preferred language, then the module will content in English. If a user logged on with Italian as the preferred language then, content will be displayed in Italian, if exists.

Content Sharing has a security model whereby modules can be setup to read or write data across portals. The security access can be controlled only the Host or Super User account giving the administrator full control on which and how the content modules can be used.

Main features include:

  • Content replication - write once use everywhere
  • Dynamic content localization based on user preferred language
  • Enhance security control on data sharing of module
  • Supports DotNetNuke core Announcements module
  • Supports DotNetNuke core News Feed (RSS) module
  • Supports DotNetNuke core IFrame module
  • Supports DotNetNuke core Contacts
  • Supports DotNetNuke core HTML/Text module
More support of DotNetNuke modules will be included soon.

Please visit download section of our website to download the modules.  And of course feedback is appreciated.

Is this module still available? The link is broken and I couldn't find it on your site.

It would be very handy if it's in working order. :)

Wow that's a 4 year old post!!   If you can't find any joy, try http://www.inventua.com - they have a shadow module which I believe does what you want - I think it does - I haven't checked for a while, but that's what I remember it being called.

Lei over at ZLDNN does a couple of modules that do the job. His Module Wrapper lets the host user reference a module from another portal, and there's another one that you just point to a page and a module ID and it grabs the content. I use the module wrapper to duplicate content across portals. Regards, Rob
