Hi

When a Security Role is added to a user the following email notification is sent to the user:

Dear XXX,

Your user account at the XXX portal website has been recently updated to include access to the following Security Role:

Role: XXX
Description: XXX
Expiry Date: XXX

Thank you, we appreciate your support...
XXX

My question is: How do I change the text (and date format if possible) in this email.

Thanks in advance for the help.
matt.

This can be edited under Host/Languages (for all portals) or Admin/Languages (for the portal you are on) using the Language Editor. I think this one is in GlobalResources.

I'm pretty sure the date format is based on your portal date format. So if you are looking for it to change to ddmmyy instead of mmddyy, then make sure you have set your portal default language to one with the correct format in. For instance en-GB should give you ddmmyy.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger

Thank you for your response.

Are you able to provide more detail?

Does 'Host/Languages' and 'Admin/Languages' refer to menu options available when logged into a portal as an Administrator? Or is it in reference to a folder or file (.ascx or .resx)?

Also, the only default portal language available is 'English (United States)'. How do I install a new language? My portal is being hosted by a ISP in the USA.

Thanks.
matt.

Matt,

Host and Admin are menu options when you are logged in as 'Host' or 'Administrator'. You need to be logged in as 'Host' to be able to add a new language, which you will then do from Host/Languages. If you don't have access to the Host account, you will have to request your portal provider to add the language you require. You then set the default language for the portal under Admin/Site Settings/Advanced Settings/Other Settings. If you don't have access to the Admin menu, then you need to be talking to the portal administrator, since only priviledged accounts can do the changes required.

When you go into the appropriate Language menu, you will see a Language Editor option down the bottom left. It should be obvious from there..... You will have the option to change which language you are using. and configure the text for email messages and much, much more in the pages you will see.

Cheers
Roger
