First I want to hide the login link from all users.

To allow the administrator (me) to log in I want to setup a separate folder containing a single page for logging on as admin.

Can anyone tell me how to accomplish these 2 things.

The first step is to disallow registration, which you can accomplish simply: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/About/DotNetNukeOnlineHelp/tabid/787/TID/384/cid/8/Default.aspx

The next step is to remove the LOGIN token from the skin you are using.  If your skin is provided in HTML format, look for this token "[LOGIN]" and if your skin is provided in ASCX format look for the control "dnn:LOGIN".

You can always reach the admin login page for your site by forcing it with the following addition to your querystring http://www.dotnetnuke.com/default.aspx?ctl=login ( the "?ctl=login" ).  You could simply bookmark this... or even add a quick HTML page with an appropriate redirect to accomplish your purpose.

Cheers

Thanks for that.

I had been looking through the documentation last night, particularly the skinning document.  The example is excellent and there it mentioned the tokens.  Skinning looks quite easy.

As for admin logging on I was considering having a different skin for an admin page with login token and another skiin for the rest of the site.  You have mentioned a better way so thanks.
