We originally had the problem that an iFilter was not installed for PDFs. At that time, we were getting an error message that looked like this:
Search: File Crawler

Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: News/2012/Rabies Clinic September 29 2012.pdf
Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: News/2013/Butts for Mutts.pdf

Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: News/2013/Rabies Clinic January 19 2013.pdf
Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: FirstDayLetter.pdf
Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: News/Water Aerobics Schedule.pdf
File Crawler Unable to Finish, Error: The underlying system threw an exception.
File Crawler Finished
However, we installed iFilter and confirmed it is now showing under the included extensions and that Content Crawling is checked.
Even after that, we still get the error:
Search: File Crawler
Scanning for files changed since: 8/11/2016 3:03 PM
Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: FirstDayLetter.pdf
Error indexing document using iFilter. There is no iFilter provider configured: News/Water Aerobics Schedule.pdf
File Crawler Unable to Finish, Error: The underlying system threw an exception.
File Crawler Finished
However, the interesting thing about this is if I remove those two files from the system completely, recycle the app domain and request a full re-index, it still gives me the error.
That leads me to believe this is a problem within DNN and not the iFilter since DNN still believes I have those files out there even though I have completely removed them.
I'm using Evoq Content Enterprise version 7.3.4.
