Hi everyone! I want to develop module in C# for DNN 4. For this purpose i have downloaded DNN StarterKit. After i had creating new module template in C# and trying to compile the whole project, but i have an error: The files '/DotNetNuke_2/App_Code/EmailMe/DataProvider.cs' and '/DotNetNuke_2/App_Code/AssemblyInfo.vb' use a different language, which is not allowed since they need to be compiled together.

EmailMe - this is my own module. Please tell me what i need to do to solve this problem.

you will need to add the folder to the list in web.config. For a more detailed tutorial, have a look at http://dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com

You can develop DotNetNuke modules in VB.NET or C# (or any other .Net language). However, if you are developing in a language other than VB.NET you have to add an entry like this to the web.config:

<codeSubDirectories>
    <add directoryName="EmailMe" />
 </codeSubDirectories>

This node is in the <system.web><compilation> node, (there is a commented out example in web.config).

You must perform this step because the main project is written in VB.NET and you must instruct the compiler to compile the indicated directory in C#.

This entry is only needed for the files placed in the directory under the App_Code directory
