When I try to add a icon to the links list it keeps giving me a broken image, my prvious install (4.03) worked properly so i can only imagine that it is an install or an iis problem that i don't lnow about.

DNN 4.04.00 with Links 03.03.00

When I try to see where it is trying to source the file from it doesn't help because it gives me the following URL:

http://staging.web.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=yeLmVnnTHec%3d&tabid=54&mid=490

Anyone experienced the same? I have tried reinstalling or using a different icon but no luck.

Mike

DNN 4.3.x changed file handling, so all files are submitted using LinkClick.aspx. This is an http handler that also checkes, if a zuser has sufficient folder permissions ("read"), to get the file displayed.

Hi Sebastian,

I already asked this in the media project forum, but is I got the idea that letting LinkClick.aspx stream the file is much slower then just pointing the img src to the right url. In our sites this is causing images to be displayed really slow.

I understand that by streaming all files through LinkClick.aspx you have more control over access rights (and some statistics I assume), but if it really causes so much overhead I'd really like to have the option to bypass the LinkClick .aspx page for simple/large images.

Thanks in advance,

Rutger

In this case, the links module is not the best solution, AFAIK most of the Gallery modules do not use LinkClick.aspx

Hi Sebastian,

What about the media module. We sometimes use it to let user select relatively large images for "panoramic" panes on the site.
