If I have several User Controls in my module so I have to list all of them in the .dnn file?

Is there an efficient way of navigating through User controls in my module, especially using a global navigation link that appears on all User controls. I add my global menu into a User Control and added this User Control into all the User Controls that need the menu link, the link shows on the page but how do I make it work?

I tried using the Switchboard example in: Switchboard but the application is failing at Control_Load due to recursion. I had to convert all the code to C#. I have also tried used NavigateURL but that removes all other controls

Any help will be appreciated, I am kind of frustrated at this point trying to develop my first module out of an existing application that has 20 plus pages which I will convert to User Controls once I have the basic navigation issues resolved. I don't want to have to add repetitive code. I am using C#, VS 2005 and SQL2005.

Can you elaborate on "Control_Load due to recursion"?

How about using the menu only on the main view page control. Then add panels that holds each and every user control. When clicking a link, you set the panels to visible/hidden, depending on wich control to show.

Thanks for your response.

I thought about this, using Placeholders which I will eventually have to do as I have not found any instructions on how develop Modules with more than one control. The application I am trying to convert to User Controls and eventually to a Module has about 30 pages and my solution has about 700 files.

When I converted the code to C# and ran my module in Debug mode the application crashed because there was an infinite loop in the Load_Control method. I did not get time to figure out what was wrong.
