Hi, new user here.. maybe shouldn't have started with an install on vista iis7. But heck, it's in. Installed and running fine, until i tried to logout. It gives me a module not loaded error:

Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (Q:\DotNetNuke_4.4.1_Source\Website\web.config line 59)

Also i can't log in as admin. admin/dnnadmin doesn't work. Only the newly created user works.

Anyone have any idea. Will be much appreciated

For your module load error, I would check to ensure that all .dll files are included from the download of DNN.  For the password issues, you can forcefully reset the password on the host and admin passwords since you have another working user account.  Here http://mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/EntryID/23/Default.aspx is a quick set of instructions on how to do that.

Just a thought, do you have the application running in the "Classic" application pool in IIS?

Hi, i have DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication in the bin directory ([root]/bin). The funny thing is the rest of the functions work - register, login, but not logoff. Don't they access the dlls there too?

I am running classic asp.net. I saw a post regarding dnn on vista/iis7 and i followed exactly what chris said. So really not sure what i'm missing.

Is your DNN instance installed on "Q:" drive (based on the error message you posted)?  Is this a network drive (maybe Vista/.NET doesn't trust the location where you've installed DNN?)

Just a guess.

it's not a network drive. It's actually a physical partition of my machine.
