Can someone tell me what is the recommended cache setting for the news feed module?  Should I set it to 0 seconds or 1 minute or 1 hour or 3 hours or...?

I noticed thta some modules automatically set the cache to a certain value when I initially add it to a page (ie. the annoncement module).  However, for the news feed module, the cache is initially set to zero.  Is it because no cache is the best choice?

I have experimented in the past couple of days by setting the cache to 0 and 3600- each has its own disadvantage.  With 0 cache, 10% (rough estimate) of the time, I get the "can not connect error" and the user need to refresh the browser.  With 3600, I almost always get the news feed loaded correctly.  However, the big problem is that 1% (rough estimate) of the time, the news feed is completely blank and it remains blank no matter how many times I refresh (I assume it remains like that for 3600 seconds.)
