I would love to be able to rewrite the output of the standard repository syndicate to put it in a format that is podcast friendly. Really that would just mean:

  1. Replace the current link to the repository module with the path to the file
  2. Change the title, removing the page name

I just started looking around, but does anyone know if there is an xls I can edit somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

David,

Here is a post I made awhile ago about a custom XSL stylesheet i had made for the Repository. In the Example, i used the Title of the Item as a link to take you to the file.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/54/threadid/31217/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I am not sure what you mean for the 2nd Item.

Hope that helps you.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem I am encountering howeveris that the ownload mechanism of the repository module looks something like:

__doPostBack('dnn$ctr851$Repository$lstObjects$_ctl3$hypDownload','')

In the XML output of a module, the only thing we really get is the guid (what you used for your link to the item) and never the path to the file itself.

If iTunes is going to read this feed and download the items, I need to get the module to output the link as a simple http://mysite.org/file.mp3 and not anything that requires javascript.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately there is no way to get around the postback to download the file. The module was built that way for security reasons.

You could always customize the module yourself.
