Has anyone setup multiple parent portals with a GoDaddy account?  I heard that it can't be done due to GoDaddy not allowing use to configure IIS settings.  I'm kind of new to this so can any confirm or deny this?  Thank you.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could post an example of a 301 redirect index.html for GoDaddy hosting, since it is the only one the search engines can follow. My DNN resides in /dnn folder. The JavaScript redirect example in GoDaddy´s help system isn´t 301 compatible.

I have not been able to create multiple portals in a DNN instance that was installed at the root in a shared hosting environment on GoDaddy.

The problem is the application's inability to create a new folder at the root (the folder is created to store a Default.aspx file). This is apparently one of the first steps in creating the portal -- because none of the information about the portal was written to the database.

So coming at it from the other side -- creating the folder for the application and then creating a portal -- results in a "portal already exists" type error.

For this particular purpose, I recommended dropping the shared hosting and buying a virtual dedicated hosting account with GoDaddy, this may not be feasible/desirable for everyone though.

Hi friends,
My tutorial delayed due to delay of DotNetNuke 4.5.0,
First of all we can install multiple parent portals in Godaddy (at least Windows deluxe hosting package needed)
But Godaddy doesnt allow to write on root. So some steps will require manual effort.
I'll post all steps needed to install Godaddy and create child/parent portals on it.

Currently my portals are: mikroproje.com (is main portal) and mynetnuke.com (parent portal under mikroproje.com Hosting)

Personally recommend Hostgator for hosting single or multiple DotNetNuke Websites.

I am trying to use multiple portals on a GoDaddy installation, too.  Thanks in advance to the person who has figured this out and shares with the class...
