Hi all,

I want to go have 2 versions of the User Registrations both called from different forms. The only difference between both User Registrations is that I want to go into Manage Profile Properties and Add and delete fields relevant to which User registration I'am creating. Basically one registration for normal users and another one for power users for example. I hope I have exaplained myself!

Please help. Any ideas?

thanks

Simple answer would be - not really doable with the built in Rego/Profiles module.

There are a couple of 3rd party user / rego tools out there that may be of some help
 - but for most of my applications we have wound up going with custom registration pages ... that feed into the DNN membership providers.

They give us much more flexibility in layout and functionality than the - all things to all people approach of the generic rego system.

If you need something special - drop me a line - I may be able to help out.

Westa

Westa-

After playing more with the default registration page and reading some of your posts, I think probably writting a custom registration is my best option.  I am thinking adding a new module.  Can you please give me some direction regarding how to feed the Membership providers?  Is there some sort of documentation on line somewhere I can look?

Thanks a lot.  - Ryan

I am also in a position whereby I need a bit of modification to the user registration control.

I've looked at a couple of the user registration modules (purchased two different ones), but they either don't work correctly or do not give the flexiblity I'm searching for.

I need to add four fields to the current registration screen (i.e. BirthYear, Gender, and a couple of check boxes to indicate that you have read the privacy and terms of use). I'd also like to adjust how the registration is presented into a more wizard like interface.

The check boxes are not needed for actual storage as they really are just validations to allow the registration to proceed. I think that something custom would be better then off-the-shelf "everything to everyone" modules currently available.

Would you possibly extend to me, example code for proceeding down this avenue?

Thanks, Chris
