Hello
I got into trouble with searching for words that use umlaut characters.
What happens:
1) I enter schön in a Text/HTML Module
2) changing from design to code view shows schön -> save content
3) looking up the corresponding database entry in column HtmlText.DesktopHtml shows schön
4) searching for schön does not find the entry

Doing the same using Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider or RadHtmlEditorProvider works fine. Can anybody help me out with that..I really appreceate FCK and would like to keep on using it.

web.config:
<globalization culture="en-US" uiCulture="en" requestEncoding="UTF-8" responseEncoding="UTF-8" fileEncoding="UTF-8" />
<htmlEditor defaultProvider="FckHtmlEditorProvider">

SQL Server 2005 Collation: Latin1_General_CI_AS

Operation System -> Regional and Language options:
- Standards and Formats: German (Switzerland)
- Location: Switzerland
- Language for non Unicode Programs: German (Switzerland)

I use
- DotNetNuke 4.4.1
- FckHtmlEditorProvider 01.00.07
- EckTwo-USearchModules 1.3.0.39172

Any hint would be appreciated very much.
Thanks allot
Markus

search is not provided by the editor, but by the core and the module you use, i.e. the module submitts the text to the search indexer. There is no issue, that FCK replaces "ö" with "ouml;", though it is not needed in UTF-8, it is usually regarded as "better HTML". However, there seems to be an issue with portal search, that does not treat "ö" and "ö" as the same character, as it should. This needs further investigation, in order to get it fixed in a future DNN version.

Cheers from Germany,
