Hi,

I have scenario where in i need to rebind my datagrid after drag drop on raisinga call back. For this i need to allow postback after the call back is completed so that the new data should be displayed inside the datagrid.

I'm not finding any way to do it using ClientAPI within DNN. Please suggest if there is any.

Or should I use UpdatePanel of MS AJAX toolkit which allow me to achieve the postback?

How much is it feasible to use a MS AJAX tool within DNN?

Please suggest some valuable solution.

Thanks,

-AP

Any reason the result of the callback couldn't contain the changes needed to apply to the grid?  If you find that a postback is necessary, I'd short-circuit your logic, and have the drag-drop event do the postback which in turn updates the grid.  There is no need to do two server-requests.

After doing the call back i need to do some database processing & then rebind the consolidated dataset to the datagrid. So once rebound i need to refresh the grid to display the latest datasource data. And the reason i need to call the postback to refresh after callback is finished.

Please let me know if you have any better appraoch or any code sample to do this kind of scenario as i m stuck with this.

Thanks,

-AP

What I am saying is the amount of round-trips to the server you are trying does not make sense.   If you are requiring a postback after everything is done anyways, then just do the postback without the callback.

If however, you can get around the postback (by sending down the updated html or some other way), then stick with the callback.

I don't really have enough time on my hands to put together any samples for this.
