I too believe that the "Trust by Role" idea is a good thing.

If a person is running a subscription site, if a user pays for membership they could have added benefits of being trusted in the forums automatically for having the specific role...

No worries Marc, this is why I seperated the Beta site from this site. This allows discussions to happen on that site without confusing users of the current version. I would recommend to anyone that visits that site they only do so for checking the status of the beta version or viewing examples. Never use that site to answer questions here or to figure out how to use the current released version because there may be many differences between the two (as there are right now).

I'm affraid that I don't understand why it is that a user has to be Trusted in order to edit their own posts.  I realise that this is tied into the mechanics of moderation, but surely a post can be re-submitted for moderation if it is edited.

It is the way the module was originally designed. This doesn't mean it won't change, but quite honestly something like this has been the least of my concerns. I prefer to focus on the larger problems associated with the module then worry about items which are a little more opinionated. No offense to your post here nomad3k, but also consider that changing something like this now is not necessarily the right approach either. Because of that, a setting would have to be provided to not force sites into this change.

Uttimately, I think the option should be there. Right now, I can't even begin to give you more than it will eventually hit our roadmap.
