Hi there,

I can post messages in threads (I've got a role for adding/editting which is configured at forum level as well at module level). that's working fine but I can't edit my own threads (nor delete them).

Does anyone have an idea? Which setting am I missing?

Ps I'm using DotNetNuke core version 4.4.5RC3 with forum module version 03.20.08

Thnx in advance

Hi pleenaers,

I believe you should be marked as a trusted user in the forum to be able to edit your posts.

Thnx Pietje_puk100,

That worked, but ..... how can users default be marked as trusted users in the forum?

I thought that in the current forum module this can not be achieved. However, in the upcomming release (which will be released prox 15th of april) it should be possible to activate this by default. I'm not sure if this will be role based or not.

There seems to be a workaround for this issue assuming that you have no moderated fora. Just check the following thread I haven't tried this myself so i'm not sure if this will do the trick. Try locally first!!!

Good luck,

Marc

The only difference in version 4.4 is that the module administrator can set all new users to "Trusted" status. This cannot be accomplished by role. You could technically achieve this now by changing the default value of the IsTrusted column to True instead of False (which is the default setting for the column). The ability to trust users by role is an interesting one. I can think of a few good use cases, but for the majority of module administrators I don't think this type of capability would be necessary.

I would like to get some feedback from you guys on your thoughts about this "Trust by Role" possible enhancement. Please note, no matter what the decision this would not happen for the 4.4 release.
