I know there were many users (including me) asking how to install dotnetnuke to root level. I wrote a tutorial about how to install dotnetnuke to root path. Tutorial contains following sections:

  • Downloading and Extracting DotNetNuke Packages
  • Godaddy Account Management
  • Creating Virtual Directories
  • Creating and Configuring MS SQL Database
  • Configuring web.config file and editing Connection Strings
  • Sending Website Folder to FTP Server Using a Free FTP Client

Also i have included some tips about permissions.

Please click here to read my tutorial. Any comments are welcome. My next article will cover how to create parent (using your domains) and child portals in godaddy root.

For preparing this article i have read many forum posts and i have used existing (expired) guides and i want to thank for community members.

Thank you very much, you are very kind to devote your time and effort for the people like me and other that use Godaddy.

Godaddy provide a lot of harddisk and transfer rate which will be useless  if we can not use child and parent portal in  Godaddy share web hosting. I am have a lot of problem with this.

Best regards,

Jeerdate K.

Good article for those trying to get it installed on Godaddys root. I have already set it up from previous article and posts, and want to create some parent and child domains using other domains as you indicated.

How long do you think it may be until the article for that it is completed?

Hi sir, is your application installed at root level. Because my next article will be based on this article. In order to host multiple domains with your parent portals you need your dnn installed at root level. But this is not enough too. I'll cover steps in this week, or weekend.

My portal is on the root level, and it's a manual install, not the automatic one they offer. I am looking forward to the article! Thanks again.
