Anyone getting the following "infinte loop" on the part of the wizard that's installing the database scripts:

Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...FAILURE 400 - Thread was being aborted.

I'm installing a fresh 4.5.0 on my local machine using the wizard. The only "non-standard" part of my install is that my SQL Express is under a different than standard name (I'm using {my machine name}\SQLExpress2 in my connection string).

Right now, the page is just "hanging" on the "Run Database Installation Scripts"

Try using .\SQLExpress. That's what I use on my dev system and my test install using the wizard worked.

While ".\SQLExpress" is the "default" name for the server instance of SQL Express, I named mine as SQLExpress2 (long story there - won't go into it). Anyway, this has been the name of my SQL Express server instance on my local machine for well over 16 months, and I've done over a dozen DNN installs of various versions to hit this server, all with no problems.

So, that begs the question on the installer if it is "ignoring" my stated SQL server (although it does correctly update the web.config). I'll be trying the "manual" install approach later & report my findings here.

(Perhaps something in the installer is "presuming" the standard server name for the Express version, rather than taking the name supplied through the wizard - though a better source of the info should be the web.config.)

I have the same error, but with slightly different circumstances.  I'm running Windows Server 2003 and connecting to a full blown SQL Server 2005 database.  On the Configure Database Connection page, if I click the "Test Database Connection" link, it says there was a Connection Success.  Going to the next page has the same behavior as described above, infinite look, shoots back error telling me to look at:

c:\...\04.04.00.log for more information...FAILURE 400

But that log file doesn't exist.  No clue what's wrong here, please help!  Thanks.
