DNN 4.5 indicates that there is a version of the Gallery Module above 3.00.12 since it removes it as an uninstalled resource. However, when I go to the project downloads/sourceforge, the lastest version to available is 3.00.12. So, which one is correct?

BTW, the content on the module project page (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Projects/ModuleGallery/tabid/843/Default.aspx) is about the Forum module. Wasn't sure if anyone really realized it was like that.

The last released version was 3.0.12 and it was a beta version. The recommendation remains, do not use it on production sites as the scenario is not supported.

The project page lists Chris Paterra's Blog who is team leader for both the Forum and Gallery projects.

Thanks, I did not know 3.0.12 was beta - that's not mentioned anywhere. I was just confused by the line stating "' Remove uninstalled module packages that have new versions in distribution." in the 04.05.00.txt file and then it listing 3.0.12.

And, I wasn't thinking about it being his blog and his latest writings being on the Forum module. Makes sense, just looks odd on the page.

thanks.

For various reasons the Gallery Module have been neglected by the DNN developers.  There is however an updated but unofficial version that seems to be working fine.  The fact that they say the "official" release is beta is to dump the responsibility of using it on you and avoid having to support it.  You may download the unofficial version from http://www.jegers.com/DNN/Default.aspx?tabid=133.

Do I sound irritated?  That is because I am, as well as many others.  I have posted messages to both of the Gallery Module forums asking for a status update and they have gone unanswered for months, I cannot comprehend what the big secret is, they totally avoid answering, is like a lawyer is in charge of the Gallery team.  I only received a not too very reassuring "unofficial" response today.

Sorry to have hijacked your post.  Do try the module from Mr. Jegers, he is also around to help and seems to be responsive to questions and issues.
