what I am hoping to accomplish:

If you go to www.littletonpublicschools.net/sandburg and click on Teacher Pages, I am hoping to have teachers have their pages listed down the left side.  i want a teacher to be able to add a page and select Teacher Pages as the parent page.  When they create this page, I want 6 child pages (About Me, Parent Letters, Homework, Class Projects, etc) to be created with their new page.

Would what you are suggesting do this?  I will try it, but thought I would clarify to you what I am trying to do.  If you go to the site now, you don't see all the child pages because I want them to default to not be public since many teachers won't use most of the pages initially.

Thanks again for your help.

ETA:  I am doing what you suggested.  in the wizard, it is prompting me for how to deal with duplicate modules.  I don't want to mess up any of the site that is already there... the pages that already have been created and so forth.  Will running the wizard leave all of the existing stuff alone?

saying "ignore" will leave duplicates unchanged.

I don't think this is going to end up being exactly what you want anyway b/c you still have not dealt with permissions either. you still need to give that teacher permission to edit their content.

I think you are going to end up needing a module.

If I have to I'll just create all the pages for them... we just had two templates we were going to let them choose from.  And I don't know who wants what template.

What do you mean I'll still need to create a module?  It would be fine with me if it created all the pages with no modules... the pages are the most important part.

No, I meant a module would have to be written/developed to do it automatically.

You can use the template/wizard to create them just like I indicated previously. Create one, rename it, create another, rename it. etc. alot faster than all manually. Up to you though.

Question for you though first - are you wanting the pages your creating to start at "[your name] Class" and then go from there?

I tried doing the wizard and it didn't put the page in the right place... like the [your name] Class wasn't anywhere, and the 6 child pages were directly under Teacher Pages.

Sadly, I need these pages created for a teacher training tomorrow morning.  (which I didn't know about until 1 today)

I'm thinking when a teacher goes to create a page, they will give the parent page the correct name (Ms. Smith's Class) then the six child pages would be created under it, one of which is called About [your name] that they would then have to go and correct the page name and title.  maybe i can get this in place for another school, but obviously won't happen for tomorrow.  I'm going to try and get up early tomorrow morning and get all the pages created.  Thank you for your help!
