All I can say is check out my band's use of the Events 03.03.07 Module running on DNN 4.4.1 at WebHost4Life:

This page includes 2 instance of the module, one configured as a List View only (showing the next 5 events) from the Month only view further down on the page.  It all depends on what you're trying to do...the module is a fairly complex module and can be broken by incorrect configuration....there are, however, a few reported bugs that we are working on and hope to have another version up later tonight for beta testing.  Even w/this, I can guarantee their are still bugs in the module...like I said, the requirements/features are fairly complex.  But, it does work when used correctly (reference my example).
