Can someone please help?
My starter kit doesn't open at all- for a number of reasons. All these have now become big challenges to me.
1. The starter kit downloaded is in .vsi format and double clicking on it gives error message like locate a program from your disk or let windows use internet; unfortunately both the options turned dud. This is after my third download.
2. The first time, I had some problem with hard disk space which I got sorted out and when I did this, I wanted to start off with a clean slate, so downloaded the starter kit all over again. But it always said that some content file was not signed and would I wanted to sign it now. Obviously, I okyed it and viola- nothing happened. This repeated several times.
3. At some stage, it went a step ahead, rekindling my hopes but not much. The wizard was stopping at the second stage where it was saying some content was not being installed and it was not possible to proceed without it!

I am not a technical guy but a petty shopkeeper. Still I tried to install it aftyer being encouraged by some web pages that this is possible for everyone and hardly takes minutes. Some technical help I have hired have only had to excuse without being able to complete the installation. I am fully convinced about this package but will continue to be unable to install and use it without these things being sorted out.

Please remember, while suggesting ways, avoid all technical terms as long as possible; I fear your best effort may go bouncers over me.

Finally, is it enough to have downloaded just the starter kit or does it require MS SQL Express 2005 and Visual web developer 2005? I have tried with these two installed and running as well as without them.

Thanks in advance.

If you are not technical, the starter kit will be over your head.  Best to go with the install package and learn that first.

The starter kit does require you to have Visual Web Developer or Visual Studio 2005.

Thanks for this. But I have the visual web developer 2005. I have also tried installation through installation package using the files InstallationWizard.aspx and WizardUser.aspx. They went to some software development environment but not the wizard. Is there something amiss or is it the right track?

Earlier this morning, I tried through the starter kit which was telling that some content file was not signed. Which is this and where is this located and how can I sign it?

I think here lies the key?!

Thanks for all the help till now.
