Hi,

I have copied the 4.5.1 install files over my 4.5.0 installation (modified the web.config) and navigated to the site but no upgrade ran.  The host settings show the current version of 4.5.0 and the app seems to function OK (although I have not run a thorough test).

What actually trigger the upgrade and what can I check to see why it hasn't run?

Many thanks

the upgrade is triggered when the version of dotnetnuke.dll is updated. Please note, you don't just copy the install folder over, you should be copying all the folders over as the install will reference files in other folders such as the root and providers folders.

Somewhere in the download or extract process, I'd lost most of the DLLs including the dotnetnuke.dll.

I hadn't spotted it!!

Thanks

Just to clarify, you should be unzipping the "upgrade" zip file to your local machine and then uploading those files over your cirrent install.

Do not over write your install with the install package contents.
