Hi,

I just  upgraded from 4.3.7 to 4.5.1, and did everything as usual. Rigth after the upgrade everything is fine, but after a couple days when i try to browse to my site, i got the screen "DotNetNuke Installation Wizzard 4.5.1  - Dotnetnuke is already installed on this system". Browsing my site again i got the main screen, but no user is able to log in, so basically  my portal is lost. This happened to me several times.

Any idea why, and how to avoid it?

Thanks!

Ors

It almost sounds like your web.config has changed from the upgrade if you are taken back to the install screen.

Have you made any modifications to your config?  Also you did copy over the machine key values correct?

Hi,

When upgrading I did everything as usual: backup, overwrite, modifying web.config (connection string, machine keys:  validationKey and decryptionKey, objectQualifier). After the upgrade the site worked. Later i haven't made any more modifications to the web.config. When the site broke down, i check the web.config values, but they seemed all rigth.

Now i turned off auto-upgrade option to avoid the install screen. Do you think it may help?

Do you think overwriting the web.config might help?

Any more ideas?

Thanks!

Ors

Same problem here, after the upgrade host doesn't log in, neither admin, we followed the upgrade activities one by one correctly, what is missing ??

Are you on a shared hosting provider?  Is there a chance they reverted to an old web.config on you?  It is very odd that you were taken to the install page...

Turning off auto upgrade should take care of the issue with being auto redirected there...but you might have a bigger issue under the covers...
