Hi leupold

I have Sql server, IIS, Visual Studio and Visual Web Dev on my system, i do not know if i have ASP.net how do i find out ?

thank you for your advice, i have to say in 15 years using a computer, this has been the hardest installation i have ever come across, and have spent longer on this installation than on any other single task before, into day 6, i just hope that 1) i can do it and 2) it is worth it

thank you again

your DNN 4.3.7 issues: for admin or host menu to be visible, you need to be logged in. Login is placed in to right corner by default. if the home page does not provide it and default content, there has been an installation issue.

I suggest to start from the beginning, using DNN 4.5.1 install package or install utility.

asp.net is part of .Net framework 2.0, and needs to be installed past IIS installation, otherwise you might need to reregister it.

From my experience DNN installation works fine in 99 cases, but there is 1 percent, where installation is very hard, if you are new to it.

Don't hesitate to ask (but please wait for the answer). HTH

thank you for all your advice over the last day,

i downloaded and installed DNN on a disc and it worked first time, though it is in german, is there any way of changing the lauguage ?

(in case cannot change language) You also suggest for me to install DNN 4.5.1 install packege, but for the time being i am only going to run it on my computer till i get a feel for it, if i can get it working well, i will be putting it online ( i hope) is DNN 4.5.1 install the best version for me then ?

thank you again, you have been very helpful
