Hi to you all,

i was told be a friend this week how great DotNetNuke is, since then i have lost sleep, pulled out the little hair i have left, and shouted at anyone brave enough to come within 100 meters. My computer has also been formated and windows reinstalled twice. What a week, though i refuse to give in.

I downloaded DotNetNuke 4.5.1 Starter and ran it, it comes up with a problem very quickly

(when clicked here, this page message opened)

Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio.

I would be greatful for any advice or help

Thank you in advance,

(and my family would be greatful : ) )

I have managed to install DotnetNuke 4.5.1 but when creating a site for the first time i come across this error

I wont to make sure i am doing things in the correct order,

when do i change the info in the web.config file, a) before i unzip dotnetnuke, b) before i run it the first time c) after i install it but before i run it in visual studio

After running DotnetNuke on Visual studio pressing ctrl F5, I then  set the site up with auto, do i have to creat a data base, or will it create it with the auto set up

Do I have to set uo IIS or will the Auto do it for me ?

I feel that i am so nearly there, i can smell it but still to taste it.

I also would like to add that i will puchase a book on DNN, at the moment i am out of the country but on my return to the uk will, (now i am in thailand and all computer books here are in Thai)  what books do you people use and would recommend for DNN ?

Thank you again in advance ,
