Just thought I'd give an update... I think I have things started on this. I have replaced the ADSI provider with your own custom provider. There was a series of steps I had to complete to get it to recognize the new provider. As I continue today I may have more questions. If anyone has any advice for me, let me know.

Thx!!

I'm doing something very similar and would like to know how you get on. I was a little confused as to which provider I needed to change as I need to get it to work with a product called cosign a SSO solution.

I'm also interested in creating my own authentication provider.  Beside that Blog, is there any other help that anyone has?  Any sample code would be great if it's available somewhere.  Thanks.

With the separation of providers for DNN 4.6 it relatively straight-forward to do your own provider. Download the source for any of the current providers http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/Authentication/Downloads/tabid/852/Default.aspx and take a look at how they're done.
